Italian Supersport Champion
Federico started competing at the age of nine on a minibike. At 11, he entered the CIV (Italian Championship), before taking part in several Moto3 races and switching to 600cc bikes.
Following his title as Italian Supersport Champion in 2014, Federico stepped up to the European 600 Championship in 2015, where he finished in 3rd place behind Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michel Ruben Rinaldi. The same year, the Italtrans Moto2 team called him in to replace Franco Morbidelli for the Misano race.
After finishing on the podium in his first race in the 600 Supersport class, Federico was immediately noticed. Regularly at the forefront, he was recruited by Yamaha in 2017. In 48 races, the native of Ravenna stepped on the podium 20 times, including 6 victories.
After a World Supersport runner-up place in 2019, Federico spent the pandemic-shortened 2020 season in the Superbike class. The Italian rider returns to the Supersport championship with one goal : to clinch the world title. The new #94 rider will carry the history of the GMT94 into World Supersport for the 2021 season.
