Stefano Manzi (22 years old – Italy) will replace Andy Verdoïa for the Jerez round, following his injury at the Barcelona circuit. Manzi is currently riding in the Moto2 World Championship. As regular points finisher, Stefano scored a pole position at Valencia in 2019, and has a best finish of 4th at the same circuit. Stefano has two top ten finishes in the 2021 MotoGP season and will be competing on the GMT94 Yamaha R6 at the WorldSSP Jerez round on 24th-26th September.

Stefano Manzi: “I am delighted to be taking part in the WorldSSP round in Jerez with GMT94. They are one of the best teams in the championship. I am looking forward to riding the Yamaha R6 in WorldSSP configuration, as I am used to training on a stock R6. There are some differences, but we can do well with the GMT94 team.”

Christophe Guyot: “We are glad to welcome Stefano to our team. He comes from Moto2 where he has already made some great moves. He knows the Jerez circuit well, as well as the Yamaha R6. He is very keen to join the team and to participate in this event. So he has all the ingredients to adapt to the GMT94 Yamaha R6 which will get the number 62.”

See you this Friday at 11.30am for FP1 of the 600cc Supersport class at the Jerez circuit!
