Race Resume

After a good Friday, GMT94 Yamaha finished the free practice sessions in 3rd, 5th and 7th place with P.Hobelsberger, V.Debise and J.Cluzel.

Unfortunately the young German rider suffered from forearm pain at the end of the day. Lap after lap, Patrick had to give up until he had to stop on Sunday.

Valentin Debise was impressive. With a 6th place in qualifying, the Albi rider unfortunately crashed during the session, then in race 1. Valentin was able to maintain his pace in race 2. After a few cautious first laps, Valentin came back strongly in the race, with several laps in the leaders race pace. Battling for the top 5, he finished 7th, just a few thousandths from 5th position.

Jules Cluzel had to discover the circuit on Friday. After a good qualifying on Saturday, two tenths off the pole position, the rider from Montluçon started from 4th place. He finished race 1 in 7th place, before being hit at the beginning of race 2. Fortunately, Jules is fine.

Christophe Guyot: “We had high hopes after Friday. Unfortunately, the party was quickly spoiled by Patrick’s pain, Valentin’s crash when he was carried away by a competitor, and then Jules’ accident. This weekend could have turned out differently, so I remain positive for the coming races, and I am sure that it will be possible to quickly find the way back to the podium. Valentin had a great second race and felt very comfortable on the GMT94 Yamaha R6. This race at Most has prepared him well for the race at Magny-Cours (France).

The next round of the World Supersport Championship will take place on August 20, 21 and 22 at the Navarra circuit (Spain).
