SECOND PRACTICE SESSION IN SPAIN

24 January 2019

Winter Test

The second day of practice is closed on the Jerez circuit. With a lap time of 1’43″3 for Jules Cluzel and 1’43″8 for Corentin Perolari, the good performances were with our riders.

Christophe Guyot : “We discovered that Pirelli was present when arriving on the circuit. We had not been informed and we did not benefit from the development tires reserved for the Bardhal, MV Agusta and Kawasaki teams. We knew it would be difficult to compete in these conditions and Pirelli promised us some tires for the next session in Portimao. Jules Cluzel and Corentin Perolari have accepted this situation philosophically to focus on the many changes we have made this winter to our Yamaha R6. I am really happy by their performances with standard types and we leave satisfied with our tests.

Jules Cluzel : “Of course we did not have the tires we hoped for. But that did not stop me from doing a lot of laps. First of all it was necessary to adapt to the level of the selector placed now on the right and I am more and more confident. This decision is really beneficial and I take a lot of fun on the bike. After three years of suffering from my right ankle, it is a real relief. My Yamaha R6 is great. We still have work to get the ideal engine brake and that’s the point we focused on. As soon as I feel better at this level, it will be possible to go very fast with the bike. We have two days to analyze all the data and we will quickly find the right setting. Portimao will also allow me to win again on chassis settings that we will fail with the new tires. I am looking forward to these tests.

Corentin Perolari : “I was a little tense when I arrived. The pressure is there even if nobody puts it to me and the team surrounds me a lot. I have to free myself a bit to regain my feelings. Jules is great with me and I will learn a lot from him. His experience and his speed will help me. The second half day has been good and I feel that I progress quickly. I can’t wait Portimao.
