Phillip Island - Australia

Race resume

For the last round of the World Supersport Championship season, the GMT94 Yamaha is at Phillip Island (Australia). During a solid FP1, Andy Verdoia concluded the session in 5th place and with an interesting rhythm. Jules Cluzel finished in eighth place, working on worn tires. In the afternoon session, the team made some adjustments to the tires, due to the new ones brought in by Pirelli. These were harder tires, but with less grip than in previous years. The whole field was running one or even two seconds slower than in previous years. However, it should be noted that thanks to these tires, the safety of the drivers is no longer a concern, and the race can go on without interruption, as was the case in 2019 and 2020. In FP2, Andy Verdoia was 9th, and Jules Cluzel was 15th.

The Superpole will take place tomorrow at 12:30 (local time), then Race 1 at 15:30. Rain and cold weather are forecast. All the cards will be reshuffled!
