The challenges of GMT94’s riders Debise and Baldassari during race 1

Even if this Saturday in Catalonia was not very easy for the GMT94 Yamaha. The team from Val de Marne can have good hopes for Sunday.

In Supersport, the technical problem of the day before in FP2 clearly handicapped Valentin Debise for the first race. Indeed, this unfortunately reduced session did not allow the French rider to carry out a complete simulation and to choose the good tires for the race. Nevertheless, the number 94 driver remained confident for Saturday. This was confirmed in the qualifying session with a good time that put him in 7th position. In the race, Valentin Debise made his best start of the season and was 2nd at the end of the first lap. Best Yamaha rider until halfway through the race, the GMT94 rider finished in 8th place but can hope for a podium finish tomorrow.

In Superbike the work continues for Lorenzo Baldassarri. The GMT94 rider was unfortunately cut off in his momentum following a red flag in qualifying. The Vice World Supersport Champion had made two excellent first sectors in his flying lap which could have confirmed his good progress on the Yamaha R1. For race 1 the GMT94 rider did not realize the hoped race. The fault of tires not allowing him to be really at ease and leading him to the fall. Lorenzo was still able to finish the race and gain valuable information for tomorrow.
