A Yamaha Leads the Way in Supersport: Round 2 of the FSBK at Lédenon (30)

Race resume

The stakes for this round of the French Supersport Championship were twofold:

For the Yamaha-Pirelli riders, it was crucial to score as many points as possible to secure a Wild Card entry for the WorldSBK event at Magny-Cours, in collaboration with GMT94 (see press release…).
The top three riders in the overall standings at the end of the weekend in Lédenon will be invited to join the Fan Zone stage at the French Grand Prix, alongside Christophe Guyot, Sébastien Poirier (President of the FFM), and Adrien (Yamaha France).

Supersport 600

Qualifying

Bartholomé Perrin achieved a back-to-back performance by securing his second pole position of the season. His teammate from the DMT Racing team, supported by GMT94, Damien Marmion, also qualified on the front row (P3). Strong lap times as well for the other GMT94-supported riders: Vincent Falcone (P4), Cyprien Baby (P6, P1 Challenger), Gabin Cazard (P10), and Robin Sautereau (P13, P3 Challenger).

Race 1

The track was very wet at the start, then began to dry from mid-race onwards. Race 1 saw several twists and turns. Starting from 10th position, Gabin Cazard (GMT94 Supported) pulled off a spectacular comeback. He claimed his first victory after a battle against another Yamaha rider, Bartholomé Perrin. Vincent Falcone scored valuable points (P4), and Robin Sautereau achieved his best result of the season (P7, P2 Challenger). Hindered by the track conditions and tire choice, Damien Marmion had no choice but to retire. Cyprien Baby finished P21.

Race 2

Race 2 was a showdown between Bartholomé Perrin and Diego Poncet. After breaking away with more than a 15-second lead, the two young riders battled for victory all the way to the finish. It was the Yamaha rider, Bartholomé Perrin (GMT94 supported rider), who came out on top. He leaves Lédenon leading the overall championship standings. He achieves a double success, as he is now the leader in the race for the Wild Card and also tops the FSBK standings. Regarding the other GMT94 supported riders: Vincent Falcone finished P5, Cyprien Baby finished P6 and P1 Challenger, Gabin Cazard finished P7, Damien Marmion finished P10, Robin Sautereau finished P16 and P7 Challenger.

Yamaha Challenge 700

Qualifying

Arthur Massy (GMT94 supported rider) secured the third fastest time in qualifying and will start from the front row, just ahead of Gabin Cazard (P4). Clara Corale qualified P20 on the grid.

Race 1

Thanks to an excellent start, Clara Corale overtook more than half of the field. She claimed her first Top 10 finish with P8 and became the top female rider in the standings. Gabin Cazard continued his strong form with a P6 finish. Unfortunately, Arthur Massy recorded a DNF in wet conditions.

Race 2

Determined to score important championship points, Arthur Massy secured a solid 5th place. Gabin Cazard maintained his consistency with another P6 finish. Clara Corale could not replicate her Race 1 performance and finished P18. Congratulations to Line Vieillard for finishing P12 and as the top female rider.
