Wild-Card for Maximilien Bau at Magny-Cours !

Flash News

After 9 victories in 12 races, the leader of the French Supersport Championship, Maximilien Bau (20) will have a wild-card for the French Round of the World Supersport Championship in Magny-Cours ( September 27th-29th).

To valorize French championships is a goal GMT94 tries to achieve. The young French rider will get the same bike as Corentin Perolari and Jules Cluzel, a Yamaha R6 prepared by Benoît Poupardin, Sébastien Carré, Alexandre Leroy and Grégory Rebeyrat.

Before joining the best 600cc riders, Maximilien will test the bike on the “Circuit Carole” (France). This operation would not have been possible without the strong support of the Motocycle French Federation and Yamaha Motor France, which contributed to registration fees with enthusiasm. Yamaha Racing support, especially of Andrea Dosoli, is also very important as they accepted to offer a factory engine to Maximilien.

Maximilien Bau : “Today, reaching international level is tough. Going to Spain as many riders do, in order to be detected, is too expansive. I wasn’t sure to know where I should go at the beginning of 2019. With great results in France, Rémi and Christophe Guyot promised me I may reach my goal. I still can’t believe it. I will ride one of the best Yamaha R6 of the championship, which won with Jules Cluzel. I will also have a box and a dedicated mechanic. What’s happening is unbelievable. IXON, SHARK, and all my partners are with me. I will give my maximum to deserve this amazing gift. Thank you so much to GMT94.”

Christophe Guyot : “ Since Lucas Mahias in 2014, we haven’t seen a rider winning so many races in French Supersport Championship. The level is high, with riders as Martin Renaudin, Guillaume Pot and Guillaume Raymond. They’ve all won one race. The Motorcycle French Federation President, Jacques Bolle, and François Tarrou (Yamaha France), were fully motivated in order to help a young talent.”

See you on September 27th, 28th and 29th in France, for the 10th round of the World Supersport Championship.
