The GMT94 Yamaha team is delighted to announce the arrival of Michael Ruben Rinaldi to ride alongside Lucas Mahias in the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship. The Frenchman (2017 WorldSSP Champion, 9 wins and 30 podiums in the category) and the Italian (2017 European Superstock Champion, 5 wins and 23 podiums in World Superbike) will ride the new Yamaha YZF-R9.

Michael Ruben Rinaldi: “I’m very happy and motivated to be starting this new chapter in my career. Right from the start of the negotiations, I felt a real positive energy from Christophe Guyot and Yamaha. They made it clear to me that they were committing to a project to win with the new Yamaha R9. I felt that they wanted me to be at the centre of this project and that’s what convinced me to enter the World Supersport Championship after several seasons in Superbike. Yamaha want to take a step forward in World Supersport and I think GMT94 is a top team with whom we can do a very good job.Of course, I can’t wait to try the Yamaha R9 and I’m very happy to start this new adventure with Yamaha and GMT94.”

Christophe Guyot: “GMT94 is entering a new era by fielding two Yamaha R9s in World Supersport. Lucas Mahias and Michael Ruben Rinaldi  will make their debut on the new 890cc three-cylinder Yamaha machine. I’m delighted to be able to count on two renowned riders to aim for podiums and victory. We are convinced that we have all the ingredients to be at the front in the new-generation World Supersport Championship
