GMT94 Yamaha’s weekend results in Jerez

GMT94 Yamaha was in Jerez (Spain) this weekend for the final round of the Supersport World Championship and Women’s World Championship.

Women’s World Championship: Lucie Boudesseul on the podium

First of all, congratulations to Lucie Boudesseul, who had a superb weekend. After a solid 6th place on Saturday, the GMT94-supported rider delivered a determined performance in race 2. Running in the leading group throughout the race, the No. 17 fought hard to the end to take a magnificent 3rd place. It’s worth noting that she enabled France to feature on a podium that was looking set to be 100% Spanish.

Lucie also won the honorary title of “Rookie of the Year,” a well-deserved reward for her steady progress and hard work throughout the season.

Supersport: Roberto Garcia confirms his potential

On home soil, Roberto Garcia was determined to end the season on a high note. Tenth in Race 1, the Spaniard set an excellent time in qualifying, earning him a place on the front row for Race 2.

On Sunday, after a blistering start, the 2024 Moto2 European Champion quickly settled into the leading group. Facing experienced opponents, the 19-year-old rider never gave in to the pressure. Combative and incisive, he even led the race for several laps. Roberto Garcia finally crossed the finish line in 7th position, proving that he will be a serious contender for the podium in 2026.

Difficult weekend for Lucas Mahias

For his part, Lucas Mahias had made a perfect start to the weekend by setting the fastest time in free practice on his Yamaha R9. Unfortunately, a speeding offense under yellow flags, when a 10% reduction is imposed in the area concerned, ruined his race weekend. Although he slowed down by four seconds, a slight delay in his deceleration was enough to validate the offense. The penalty forced him to start from last position in Race 1.

Determined to move up the field, the 2017 Supersport World Champion saw his efforts brutally interrupted by a crash, resulting in a broken left wrist, after he had already overtaken nearly 15 competitors. The entire GMT94 team wishes him a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back in 2026, ready to fight for the podium.
