GMT94 Estoril 2024: Results Mahias/Öttl races Saturday

Race resume

It was race day today at Estoril (Portugal) for GMT94 Yamaha.

In Supersport, Lucas Mahias got off to a very good start and was in the leading group from the outset. After setting the fastest time in the opening laps, the No. 94 rider was determined to defend his 4th place against his compatriot Valentin Debise. The 2017 World Supersport Champion suffered with a neutral in the middle of the race and was forced to give up on the leaders, but did not let up his pace afterwards. The French rider is gradually recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained in a crash during the Nevers Magny-Cours race, and can be pleased to be back on the doorstep of the podium. After a fine race 1, he will start from 5th position tomorrow Sunday and is hoping for another good result.

In Superbike, Philipp Öttl finished 17th aboard his Yamaha R1.

In the Women’s World Cup, French riders Emily Bondi and Ornella Ongaro finished 11th and 14th respectively. Spanish rider Ana Carrasco took victory.

Finally, this weekend saw the Superfinal of the R3 bLU cRU Cup take place in Estoril (Portugal). A fine performance in Race 1 for GMT94-backed driver Arthur Massy, who finished 9th. His compatriots Mathéo Baudelot, Tony Guerrero and Maxence Casting finished 16th, 18th and 21st respectively.
