Race resume

This Saturday marked the start of the first races of the World Supersport Championship (WorldSSP) and the Women’s World Championship (WorldWCR) in Hungary.

In Supersport, Roberto Garcia, who started from 9th position, got off to a flying start, moving up to 2nd place by the first corner. Quickly finding his rhythm among the leaders, the GMT94 rider #37 immediately showed his speed on the Yamaha R9. Engaged in an intense battle for the podium, Roberto fought hard throughout the race. While in third place, he fiercely defended his position, putting on a superb show for the crowd. In fifth place on the final lap, he attempted one last maneuver to regain the advantage, crossing the line in fourth position. However, a move deemed too aggressive by race Direction ultimately relegated him to fifth place. The reigning Moto2 European Champion can still be satisfied with his solid performance in his fifth World Championship race.

Lucas Mahias also got off to a good start, hinting at a promising result. However, a crash in the first lap compromised his race. The number 94 was able to get back on track to chase the clock and secure a good position on the starting grid for race 2. Mission accomplished, as he will start tomorrow, sunday, in fourth position.

In the Women’s World Championship, Lucie Boudesseul, who started from seventh position, quickly found herself in the leading group. Riding her Yamaha R7 at a good pace, the French rider then spent part of the race alone and finished in 9th position. Among the other French riders competing, Emily Bondi finished 17th, while Ornella Ongaro had to retire following a crash. Injured, the whole team sends her their best wishes for a speedy recovery.
