Race resume

Following some work with used tyres in FP1, Jules Cluzel set the 2nd fastest time in the second free practice session with a 1’41.781 lap time. In warm conditions, and a track temperature over 45 degrees, Jules improved his morning time by almost three tenths. A performance that only a few top riders have achieved.

Discovering the GMT94 Yamaha R6, Dani Valle started FP1 cautiously, finishing two and a half seconds off the fastest time. The young Spanish rider was six tenths closer in FP2, breaking the two-second barrier. Dani is now in a group of 15 riders within one second. The Madrid rider has been improving since his first lap and still has plenty of room for improvement.

Jules Cluzel : “The position today is better than in the last few races. We made good progress between the two sessions. We have to continue because the pace will continue to increase for my opponents. See you tomorrow for Superpole and Race 1.

Dani Valle : “Even if the position is not great, I am happy with my feeling on the bike. I was a bit tense at the beginning, and after some adjustments I was able to start my progression. I’m not at 100% yet, I’ve still got some tenths under my belt, and it’s great to see that I haven’t reached the bike’s limit yet. I’m sure that from tomorrow morning I’ll do another step, because the bike works perfectly and allows me to aim for great positions in this world championship.

See you tomorrow at 10:25 for the Superpole, then at 15:15 for Race 1, live on Eurosport
