Donington Park - England

Race resume

This weekend the 5th round of the World Supersport Championship takes place at Donington Park (England). Jules Cluzel had two good practice sessions. Andy Verdoia got off to a good start, before suffering a tyre problem in FP2.

In the morning session, Jules Cluzel finished 2nd, 0.021 seconds off the lead. This was an excellent start, which immediately gave him confidence going into the afternoon session. In FP2, the rider of the #16 Yamaha R6 held 2nd place for a long time, two tenths off the lead. He finally finished 4th, but with a race pace close to the lead, and an overall positive feeling. A great news for the whole GMT94 Yamaha team! Some slight adjustments will be made to the suspension to try and optimise his performance in Superpole.

Andy Verdoia discovered the Donington Park circuit this morning on a 600cc bike. He finished the first session in ninth place, seven tenths off the lead. In the afternoon, a lack of feeling on the rear tyre and a few scares forced him to stop mid-session, without being able to improve on his morning time. A faulty tyre is suspected. However, it is possible for Andy to continue his progress in tomorrow’s Superpole which will be run at 10.25am (local time) live on www.worldsbk.com !
