Magny-Cours - France

Race resume

This Friday was the free practices for the French round of the World Superbike Championship. The weather was particularly capricious. Despite this, the Supersport riders were able to enjoy about 20 minutes of dry track at the end of FP2.

Valentin Debise was the quickest to put on slick tyres, and was able to put in a series of laps as the track dried out. At the end of the session Valentin switched to a fresh tyre and took first place for the day.

Jules Cluzel, who returned to racing for the first time since his crash in Race 1 in England, also had a good day. Jules was immediately on the pace in the rain in FP1, but preferred not to take any unnecessary risks for the end of the session. The feeling and the rhythm were excellent, which is the most important thing on a wet track. In FP2, Jules went out with 15 minutes to go on a slick tyre. Hindered by the traffic, he still managed to set the 6th fastest time of the day. A few places ahead of Andy Verdoïa who finished 9th. The rider of the #94 Yamaha R6 was able to regain his confidence on the wet track, and finished FP2 well on slicks.

Unfortunately for Matthieu Gregorio, the weekend came to a quick end. After two laps in FP1, Matthieu had a violent crash. The bike was destroyed, but fortunately Matthieu only suffered a sprained right wrist. He was nevertheless declared unfit for the rest of the weekend. The GMT94 Yamaha team wishes Matthieu a speedy recovery.

From now on, the GMT94 team will meet you tomorrow at 10.25am for the Superpole, then at 3.15pm for Race 1 and finally at 5.30pm on the paddock show to take part in our big competition !
