Race resume

After a solid race 1, Jules Cluzel finished 2nd in the warm-up session on Sunday morning. Ready for the start of the race, Jules took off well. He often was between 2nd, 3rd and 4th position before being hit by a competitor halfway through the race, which forced him to rejoin from the back of the group in 10th place. By doing the fastest laps, Jules was able to catch up until he crossed the finish line in 6th place. This race was particularly tough, and saw another spectacular crash including Niki Tuuli. The whole team wishes him a speedy recovery. It was difficult for Jules to come back sufficiently on the main straight, especially when he lost the aspiration, which is absolutely essential on this track. Jules once again showed an excellent pace that could have allowed him to fight for victory.

Andy Verdoia started from 21st place on the grid. During the warm-up, Jules suggested that Andy follow him. This allowed Andy to set a better pace than the day before in race 2. He finished 11th.

Christophe Guyot: “Jules Cluzel did another great race. It was difficult to overtake the bigger bikes in a straight line on this track, and without a slipstream it was almost impossible to overtake on the rest of the circuit. The race was run in a pack and we had to take advantage of each other’s mistakes. Jules was hit halfway through the race, but he came back very quickly and could undoubtedly play the first positions. Andy Verdoia has recovered well from yesterday’s race, he finishes with a good rhythm and in the place he has been this year.

The team now has a week’s break before heading to San Juan (Argentina), where Jules won both rounds in 2021.
