WorldSBK Spain: Top 5 in the World Championship standings for Valentin Debise

Valentin Debise has regularly finished in the top five in races this season, taking two podiums in 2023 for the first time in his world championship career, and is ranked as the 5th best rider in the Supersport championship.
In Race 2 of the Supersport series, Valentin Debise was in the thick of things from the moment the lights went out and soon found himself in the top five. The Frenchman was determined to fight for the podium and even victory, but a red flag after a few laps brought his progress to a halt. However, that didn’t stop the number 94 from lining up for a second start with the ambition of being one of the front runners. Fifth from the first lap, the two-time French Supersport Champion finished sixth and scored the points which enabled him to consolidate his fifth place in the overall standings.
In Superbike, Lorenzo Baldassarri enjoyed his best weekend of the year. After finishing twelfth in Race 1 the previous day, the GMT94 Yamaha rider confirmed on Sunday that he wants to end his rookie season on a high note. The 2022 World Supersport Championship runner-up once again stood twelfth behind the world’s best riders, but he was at his best in Race 2. Ranked 19th at the first point, he fought hard throughout the 18 laps to snatch 15th place, 17 seconds behind the winner.
Christophe Guyot : For the first time this season, Lorenzo Baldassarri finished 17 seconds behind the leader in the Superbike class after 20 laps of the race. Fifteenth isn’t the best reward, but Lorenzo can be proud of this performance which saw him in contact with the best riders in the championship. Valentin Debise has been consistent all year and could have finished fourth had it not been for his absence at Misano for medical reasons, and an engine problem in Portugal. We are proud to have brought a rider from the French championship up to fifth place.
