End of 2 days of testing in Jerez for Mahias and Öttl

Test

The GMT94 Yamaha spent two days testing on the Jerez de la Frontera track in sunny Andalusia. The conditions allowed Phillip Öttl and Lucas Mahias to put in a series of laps and leave Spain with a sense of achievement.

In Superbike, it didn’t take Phillip Öttl long to adapt to the Yamaha R1. The GMT94 rider showed his speed from the very first laps with some promising lap times. The second day confirmed that Phillip Öttl and his team were working in the right direction, with a time at the end of the morning that put him at the top of the timesheet. The Yamaha rider finished these tests 3 tenths off the top 5. This bodes well for next week’s private test at Portimao.

In Supersport, Lucas Mahias put in one lap after another on his Yamaha R6. The 2017 World Champion, who was discovering his race bike and his team, was able to test different settings throughout the 2 days. The work was necessary to prepare for the first round of the World Supersport Championship in Australia.
