Race resume
The GMT94 Yamaha riders were in action at Donington Park (Great Britain) for Round 8 of the FIM Supersport World Championship and Round 5 of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR).
Roberto Garcia constantly fighting for the podium
Exceptionally fast around the British circuit last year, Roberto Garcia arrived at Donington with high ambitions aboard his Yamaha R9. From Friday’s practice sessions, the Spanish rider immediately showed impressive pace. Unfortunately, yellow flags during qualifying prevented him from converting his potential into a stronger grid position, although his confidence remained intact heading into the races.
On Saturday, the #37 once again demonstrated his outstanding starts by quickly moving into the leading group. Battling at the front throughout the race, the 2024 Moto2 European Champion fought until the very end to secure a strong fourth-place finish, just a few seconds shy of the podium.
Starting from seventh on Sunday, Roberto Garcia enjoyed another excellent launch. Immediately joining the fight for the lead, he delivered several spectacular battles throughout the race. Aggressive and decisive in his overtaking moves, he climbed into third place at half distance before fiercely defending his podium position against Can Öncü. Following another top-class performance, the GMT94 Yamaha rider finished fourth once again, collecting valuable championship points.
Lucas Mahias arrived at Donington determined to return to the front on a circuit where he has enjoyed considerable success in the past. Setting the third-fastest time in the opening free practice session, the Frenchman immediately confirmed his competitiveness. As he was improving his lap time and looked set to secure a place on the front rows of the grid, an electronic issue unfortunately compromised his qualifying session.
Forced to start Race 1 from 19th position, Lucas made an excellent getaway, gaining six places on the opening lap. The team then opted for a strategic pit stop to fit a fresh tyre, allowing him to secure a front-row starting position for Sunday’s race.
From the start of Race 2, the 2017 FIM Supersport World Champion quickly returned to the front, once again demonstrating his speed around the English circuit. Delayed by another rider during the opening laps, he saw the leaders edge away before launching an impressive comeback. Riding his Yamaha R9 aggressively, Lucas overtook his rivals one after another to claim an excellent fifth-place finish.

Justine Pedemonte’s top 10 for her first weekend at Donington
Making her first-ever appearance at Donington Park, Justine Pedemonte quickly adapted to the circuit. During qualifying, the French rider had the pace to secure a place inside the top ten. Unfortunately, another competitor slowing dramatically in front of her caused a crash, leaving her to start from 13th on the grid.
In Race 1, the GMT94 Yamaha rider made an excellent start, immediately putting herself in the right group. Consistent and competitive aboard her Yamaha R7, Justine crossed the finish line in a promising 11th place on her Donington debut.
On Sunday, despite starting from 15th position, the 19-year-old once again made a superb getaway and was already running 11th by the end of the opening lap. Quickly joining the battle for the top ten, she maintained a very strong pace, setting her fastest lap times of the weekend around the British circuit. After a hard-fought race that went down to the final lap, Justine Pedemonte secured an impressive top-ten finish in the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship.
From 10 to 12 July, the FIM Supersport World Championship stops off at Donington Park in the UK for the 8th round of the season. At the same time, the Women’s World Championship (WorldWCR) will contest its 5th round of the year. Ahead of the summer break, GMT94 sits in 5th place in the Teams’ Championship with 171 points and is determined to return to the top of the standings […]
The GMT94 Yamaha riders were in action this weekend at Misano (Italy) for the 7th round of the Supersport World Championship and the 4th round of the Women’s World Championship. Roberto García, who made his debut with GMT94 at this very circuit in 2025, approached this Italian round with the aim of confirming his progress. However, his Friday session did not allow him to fully express his potential on the […]
