Donington - England

Race resume

It is the conclusion of a superb weekend during which Jules Cluzel (Yamaha R6 #16) dominated almost all of the sessions, as the GMT94 rider landed his second win of the season and his fourth podium. This race comes to wipe the frustration of the qualification during which it was possible to do better than the fourth position and puts the entire team in the best conditions before the summer break.

Corentin Perolari (Yamaha R6 #94) had a solid race. He showed a remarkable fighting spirit early in the race with his best lap of the weekend in 1’31.6, while battling with the championship leader for a handful of laps. The rider of the Yamaha 94 goes back to the 8th rank of the general classification, when Jules Cluzel leaves the circuit of Donington to the third place.

Jules Cluzel: “What a fantastic race. This is the first time I’ve won a race in Donington and this is proof that our progress are tremendous. Today I had the bike to win. The team worked very well, which allowed me to be confident throughout the weekend.”

Corentin Perolari: “I am satisfied with my race, I showed a beautiful regularity, which is not normally my strong point. I am now at the 8th place in the championship and I’m going to train hard this summer to come back even stronger in Portimao (Portugal).”

Christophe Guyot: “Congratulations to Jules for this great victory against impressive opponents. Corentin also found the performance to achieve a very nice start of the race and finish in the top 10. Thank you to my team who does not give up on anything and invest deeply in all circumstances. Thank you to Yamaha and our technical partners that provide us with the best material to aim at our goals. Thank you to the public who follows us with passion and we expect many for Magny-Cours the 27/28/29th of September for the French round of the World Supersport Championship.”
