Contrasted day for GMT94

28 February 2020

Phillip Island - Australie

Race resume

After two good days of testing at Phillip Island, the goal for the GMT94 riders was to complete as many laps as possible to work on the race pace. During the morning session it rained at ten minutes from the beginning. The riders were only able to fully express themselves in the final five minutes. Corentin Perolari and Jules Cluzel still managed to make a good lap time. They finish 2nd and 3rd.

During the afternoon session, a screw that came out of the engine broke on Jules Cluzel’s bike, spilling a few centilitres of oil on the exhaust pipe and at the turn 1 entrance . The red flag was quickly raised, but two riders were unable to avoid the crash. After talking with them, they are both in good health. This event made lose some time to Jules Cluzel’s session plan, while Corentin unfortunately got hindered during his fast lap.

The ambition of a podium is still the goal of this weekend. The GMT94 riders have not yet achieved the ideal session which would have allowed them to get a better final result. Both Jules and Corentin are showing an excellent pace, which gives us hope for a good final result.

FP3 starts tomorrow at 10:35am (Austrlian time) live on www.worldsbk.com. The Superpole will be broadcast live on Eurosport at 12:55 pm (Australian time).
