After testing at the Carole Circuit (France) and with the support of Yamaha, we will combine experience and youth by welcoming young Roberto Garcia (19), the 2024 Moto2 European Champion, alongside Lucas Mahias. Roberto Garcia will ride the GMT94 Yamaha R9 starting from the next round in Misano (Italy).

Michael Ruben Rinaldi, who had joined the GMT94 Yamaha for 2025, will return to the Superbike category from the next round, which will take place at Misano (Italy). The Italian rider will remain in the Yamaha family as he joins the MotoX team. The GMT94 Yamaha would like to thank Michael for his commitment since joining the team and wish him all the best for the future.

Christophe Guyot: “Michaël Rinaldi comes from Superbike. He has won 5 races there and 18 podiums. It’s ‘his’ category. He was counting on Supersport to give him a shot at the world title. But everything is too different and we can only support Michaël to help him get back into 1000cc. Thanks to Yamaha, this is now possible. The whole team will remain united around Michaël to encourage him throughout the season. Good luck Michaël.”

Michael Ruben Rinaldi :  “I want to thank GMT94 and Yamaha for giving me the opportunity this winter to join the new project with the Yamaha R9 in the World Supersport Championship. I gave it everything, and our clear goal was to fight for the title. After five races, I realized that adapting my riding style to this new category was extremely difficult. The results haven’t met expectations, and it’s taken a toll on everyone involved. Yamaha, GMT94, and MOTO-X are now offering me a fantastic opportunity to bounce back. I’m thrilled to return to the Superbike category for the rest of the season and to remain part of the Yamaha ‘blue’ family. Thank you, Yamaha. Thank you, Christophe Guyot, for your unwavering support. And thank you to my team—Andrew, Loick, Benoit, Sébastien, and Flavien—for always giving your all for me. I wish you all the best for the rest of the season.”

Roberto Garcia : “This is an amazing opportunity for me to show my potential and to push at 120%! I am very happy to be part of the Yamaha family and the iconic GMT94 team. The goal is to grow race by race and achieve great results for the brand, my team and also me. I am looking forward to getting started, because I very much enjoyed riding the bike for the first time. I am super happy, motivated and very excited. Thank you to Yamaha and the GMT94 team for trusting me with this great opportunity.”
