GMT94 Yamaha kicked off its 2026 season under the Andalusian sun during three days of testing held at the Circuit de Jerez, in Spain.

Productive tests for Mahias and Garcia

Lucas Mahias and Roberto Garcia made the most of these sessions to rack up mileage on their Yamaha R9 machines and continue the technical work with the team. Focused and diligent, both riders showed an encouraging pace.

They will be back on track for two further days of testing scheduled at Phillip Island, ahead of the championship opener set for February 20, 21 and 22 on the same circuit.

Competing in her second season of the Women’s World Championship, Lucie Boudesseul was also present in Jerez.

Riding her Yamaha R7, the French rider posted solid lap times and leaves Spain with excellent feelings.

The #94 rider continues her steady rise as she prepares for the opening round of the championship, scheduled to take place in Portimão on March 27, 28 and 29.

Christophe Guyot – Team Manager

“We were extremely lucky with the weather. Conditions were ideal to work calmly and efficiently. These tests were also an opportunity for our three riders to ride with their new IXS suits. Beyond the aesthetics – with this striking blue – there is a real technological step forward, notably with the integrated back protector, which is very much appreciated by the riders.”

Lucas Mahias

“I’m leaving these tests really satisfied. Above all, we prepared for Australia. We rode exclusively with the tyres and settings we will use at Phillip Island. I was able to complete many laps in race configuration and I feel ready for the championship opener.”

Roberto Garcia

“Thanks to the whole team for the work done over the winter. I feel very well supported and now it’s time to deliver in races. Having Lucas as a teammate is a real opportunity: I learn a lot alongside him and I can rely on his experience to keep improving. I’m very motivated and extremely eager to do well.”

Lucie Boudesseul

“I would like to thank the entire GMT94 team for the attention they give me. I feel really good here. It’s also a pleasure to ride with such a high-quality, tailor-made suit. I feel great on the bike. The arrival of Pierrick Dorel as data engineer and mechanic, alongside my coach David, is also a very important addition. It allows me to stay focused solely on my riding. I feel confident. The goal is clear: to climb one or two steps on the podium and aim for great things right from the start of the season in Portimão.”
