Race resume

After a very good start, Jules Cluzel was finishing the first lap in 3rd place before Luca Bernardi lost the front in the last corner. It was then impossible for Dominique Aegerter and Jules Cluzel to avoid the San Marino rider. Aegerter was able to restart right away, but Jules Cluzel suffered a head injury with no fractures, while Luca Bernardi suffered a back injury.

The GMT94 team wishes Jules and Luca a speedy recovery. Both riders are currently in hospital in Nevers for further analysis.

After another red flag, Andy Verdoïa battled for many laps in the top 6 group, and finally finished 8th. A solid and faultless race from the rider from Nice.

Following yesterday’s incident, Valentin Debise fractured his radius and was unable to take part in race 2.

Andy Verdoïa: “First of all I wish a quick recovery to my teammates who are injured. I still managed to have a good race, with several laps in the leading group. After a contact with an opponent I had to go off the track which made me lose contact. I want to thank the whole team because I felt great on the bike. The mechanics did a great job. It was a great experience. It was my best result in dry conditions in World Supersport.
