GMT94 Donington 2024 : Results Mahias/Öttl Race 2

14 July 2024

Race resume

Sunday’s race at Donington was no picnic for the GMT94 riders.

In Supersport, Lucas Mahias found himself well placed from the very first corners, but had to deal with a red flag after 3 laps. With no new tires available for the restart of race 2, the GMT94 rider fought hard right to the end. His best time was just 4 tenths behind the best Yamaha rider Stefano Manzi, who was on a new tire and soft compound, because the number of laps was reduced to 12, like all the other competitors except Lucas. The team had taken the risk of using the new spare tire to validate a new set-up for the warm-up to find the performance that had been lacking in Race 1. The number 94 managed to finish 10th and can look forward to good results next week in Most (Czech Republic).

In Superbike, Philipp Öttl was unable to confirm his good start to the weekend. The GMT94 rider finished 20th, with the feeling that he didn’t have the bike to express himself as he would have liked.
