GMT94 Estoril 2024: Results Mahias/Öttl races on Sunday

13 October 2024

Race resume

Race 2 took place this Sunday at Estoril (Portugal).

In Supersport, Lucas Mahias once again got off to a very good start, finishing third from the very first corners. The French rider had every intention of fighting his way to the front during race 2. After finding himself on the wheel of Stefano Manzi at the start of the race, Lucas was slightly hampered by the comeback of the 99 driven by Huertas. The number 94 then found himself in a battle throughout the race with his compatriot Valentin Debise. The two drivers passed and re-passed each other several times. Lucas Mahias battled with his rival throughout the event, and undoubtedly put in one of the best races of the season. His almost-recovered shoulder was no longer a hindrance to his competitiveness right to the end of the race, and Lucas set his best lap on the final lap. The 2017 World Champion finished 2 tenths off the podium (P4), a little frustrated but happy and full of hope ahead of his final trip to Jerez (Spain).

In Superbike, Philipp Öttl finished 16th, benefiting from the retirement of a number of competitors.

In the Women’s World Cup, congratulations to Sara Sanchez who won race 2. French riders Ornella Ongaro and Emily Bondi finished 12th and 15th respectively.
