Misano 2026: GMT94 riders’ results Garcia, Mahias and Pedemonte

The GMT94 Yamaha riders were in action this weekend at Misano (Italy) for the 7th round of the Supersport World Championship and the 4th round of the Women’s World Championship.

Roberto García, who made his debut with GMT94 at this very circuit in 2025, approached this Italian round with the aim of confirming his progress. However, his Friday session did not allow him to fully express his potential on the Yamaha R9. Having set the 14th fastest time in qualifying, the Spanish rider nevertheless retained every chance of putting in some strong races.

On Saturday, Roberto García fought with determination to climb the order. Thanks to a solid and combative performance, the 20-year-old rider crossed the finish line in 10th place, securing valuable championship points.

In Race 2, Roberto got off to a good start and was in 10th place at the end of the first lap. Well-placed to continue his charge, he was unfortunately held up by a rival and lost nearly five seconds, finding himself relegated to 20th place.

Forced to go on the attack again, the Spaniard pulled off a series of overtakes and set a particularly competitive pace on his Yamaha R9, notably setting the sixth-fastest lap of the race on the seventh lap. Thanks to this impressive comeback, he finally crossed the chequered flag in 12th place.

For his part, Lucas Mahias did not have the qualifying session he had hoped for. Although he was provisionally fifth on his final lap following the interruption caused by a red flag, the French rider was held up in traffic and was unable to improve his time. He ultimately finished the session in 17th place.

On a circuit where overtaking is particularly difficult, this difficult qualifying session significantly reduced his chances of a good result. During Race 1, Lucas also reported an unusual lack of top speed, which was difficult to explain through data analysis. To rule out any uncertainty, the team replaced all engine-related components.

On Sunday morning, however, Lucas Mahias put in an excellent warm-up session in the wake of world championship leader Albert Arenas. Unfortunately, his position further back on the starting grid prevented him from turning this potential into a result. He finished the second race in 17th place and is now looking ahead to the next round at Donington Park (Great Britain), a circuit where he has already distinguished himself in the past.

Finally, Justine Pedemonte made her first appearance under the GMT94 colours. At Misano to replace Lucie Boudesseul, who is currently recovering from a crash at Nogaro during the French Superbike Championship (FSBK), the French rider was getting to know the Italian circuit.

Right from Friday’s practice sessions, Justine looked particularly at ease on the Yamaha R7. Viewing the qualifying session as a crucial step in her development, rider No. 25 secured a very encouraging 10th place on the grid – a fine performance for only her second outing in the Women’s World Championship.

In Race 1, as she was gradually closing in on the group ahead of her with the aim of securing a promising result, Justine was unfortunately forced to retire following a crash.

In the second race, the French rider looked set to challenge at the front. After setting her fastest lap of the weekend, she had to contend with a bike that became harder to handle in the second half of the race. She ultimately finished in 12th place, feeling she had come very close to a top-six finish, but also with the satisfaction of having gained valuable experience ahead of the next round at Donington Park (10–12 July).

Having made steady progress throughout the weekend, Justine Pedemonte leaves Misano with many positive takeaways and the determination to realise this potential from the very next round.
