Race resume

This Saturday at Portimao ( Portugal ), GMT94 Yamaha riders took part in the Supersport 1 race.

Starting from 2nd position, Lucas Mahias got off to an excellent start and immediately found himself up front with Can Öncü. From the very first laps, the French rider immediately set the pace aboard his Yamaha R9. Joined by Stefano Manzi, the number 94 then confirmed the speed he had shown the day before, setting the 2nd fastest time of the race. Following in his rival’s footsteps for most of the race, the 2017 World Supersport Champion was determined to finish in a strong position. After battling for the podium throughout the race, Lucas Mahias finished a fine 4th and can look forward to a good result on Sunday. He will start from the front row.

For Michael Rinaldi, starting from 20th position, the aim was to get off to a good start, and the GMT94 Yamaha rider succeeded, ending up 15th on the first lap. The number 21 finished in 19th position and will be hoping to leave Portimao with a good result tomorrow in race 2.
