The French round of the World Superbike Championship will take place from September 9th to 11th at the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit (Nièvre). The only home race of the year for the GMT94 Yamaha. This weekend will be special, both on a sporting level, and on the level of the actions led by Christophe GUYOT’s team
Andy Verdoia should be joined by his team-mate Jules Cluzel, who has just returned from convalescence. A violent crash in mid-July in England stopped the rider of the Yamaha R6 #16 for six weeks. Jules has been training again since the end of last week, and is doing his best to be ready for Magny-Cours.
On the Sport side
As part of its national programme with the FFM, the Mutuelle des Motards and Yamaha France, the GMT94 Yamaha is offering a wild-card to the 2022 French Supersport champion, namely : Valentin Debise. The rider from Albi has already taken part in one round of the world championship with the GMT94 this year, as a substitute for Jules Cluzel at the Czech round (30-31 July). A good battle for the podium in Most, suggests a good sporting weekend for this French round.
Valentin Debise will not be the only guest rider, as Matthieu Gregorio (best young rider in the French Supersport championship), will take part in his first World Championship race next weekend in Nièvre. Matthieu will benefit from the technical support of GMT94, including a world class engine, and all the parts necessary for the good performance of the bike. Unlike Valentin who will be fully supported by the GMT94 Yamaha team, Matthieu will be accompanied by his technical team.
Supporters
More than 2000 GMT94 supporters are expected to attend the French round of the World Superbike Championship. For this occasion, the Val-de-Marne team is setting up a series of activities for the members of its fan club. 500 visits of the box have been distributed, in addition to 100 visits of the team’s trailer.
A big competition is also being prepared. The GMT94 Yamaha will be meeting all its supporters and partners on Friday and Saturday at 5.30pm in front of the Paddock Show (central stage located in the paddock). A highlight of the weekend not to be missed. To take part in the competition, the members of the Gmt94 club will be invited to register in front of the J stand on Friday from 10am to 12pm, then from 2pm to 4pm, but also on Saturday from 10am to 12pm, then from 1pm to 3.30pm.
Indeed, the J stand (Imola turn) is reserved for Gmt94 club members, so that everyone can meet in front of one of the key turns of the circuit and encourage Jules, Andy, Valentin and Matthieu.
