Since its arrival in the World Supersport Championship, GMT94, FFM and Yamaha France have offered a French rider the opportunity to take part in the World Championship event held in September at Magny-Cours.
For 2025, the wild-card will be awarded to the first Yamaha rider (old generation) equipped with Pirelli tyres. The selection date will be announced during the season…
The association with Pirelli, official supplier to the SBK World Championship, will reinforce the objective of preparing the winner of the wild card to be competitive on the big day.
It should be noted that the French Motorcycling Federation will pay for the registration of a second wild card for the first rider in the French Supersport Championship standings (excluding Yamaha) who wishes to enter Magny-Cours with the team of his choice.
Christophe Guyot, GMT94 Team Manager: “The aim of our involvement in world speed racing has always been to open the door to French riders. The FFM has been involved from the outset in supporting a project that rewards sporting performance. As a result, several French riders have been able to fulfil their dream of racing full-time in the World Championship. Sébastien Poirier, President of the FFM: “Thanks in large part to the “Wild Card” project that the FFM initiated as soon as the GMT94 entered the World Supersport Championship, France will be able to boast 4 permanent riders in 2025. A fifth French rider will join the GMT94 at Magny-Cours. This wild card policy is a success and allows us to build a link between our French Championship and World Superbike.”
