Portimao - Portugal

Race resume

After the victory of the first race on the Portimao circuit, Jules Cluzel and the GMT94 Yamaha team were confident. In a very competitive race, Jules Cluzel finished 2nd, eleven thousandths away from victory. The rider from Montluçon led for several laps, and rode a near perfect race. Well done Jules.

Yari Montella also did an excellent race. In the leading group until the last five laps, Yari finished 6th, five seconds behind the leader. The Italian rider was the fastest man on track in the first part of the race. 13th at the first corner, he climbed up to sixth place in a few laps. A good progression for the young Neapolitan for his first World Supersport race.

Christophe Guyot: “Here we are again, playing for victory until the last lap. Jules rode a very good race, as did Yari who set an impressive pace at the beginning of the race. The GMT94 team can be satisfied with the work done. Now we have to prepare for Argentina, where Jules Cluzel is unbeaten. Valentin Debise will be back with us. We will give our best to repeat the good operation of this weekend in Portugal.
