Vilicum - Argentina

Race resume

The start of the race was poignant. Starting from 7th place, Corentin Perolari was third in the first corner. During 5 laps, the young rider of the GMT94 Yamaha R6 followed the furious pace of Jules Cluzel and Lucas Mahias. After sliding his front wheel, Corentin lost ground for 4 laps. Sandro Cortese and the astonishing Thomas Gradinger had caught up with him and then passed. The confidence returned, the good lap times also, Corentin stood up to Randy Krummenacher until the checkered flag. Corentin Perolari signs in Argentina the best result of the season for the newly entered GMT94 team.

Christophe Guyot: “The departures of Corentin and his starting pace are still impressive. The gap with the leading men continues to shrink, in tests as in race. We still have work to reach the Grail but the progression is constant, regular and intelligent. We get closer, we can fight with the best and the whole team is delighted with Corentin Perolari who seduced everyone.”

Corentin Perolari: “I was really good at the start of the race with the feeling of not forcing to save my tires and not to reproduce my Magny-Cours mistake. Then I lost the front after a few laps and it really distracted me. I did not understand why. I did a few laps under pressure and with the stress of falling. Then confidence returned and I was able to resume my race pace. It’s a pity I lost ground like that. I am gaining experience and I will be better prepared when it happens next time. I’m still happy with my race because 5th is good. It’s still the World Championship, so I’m not going to blush. And I had great fun at the beginning and end of the race. My team is great, she gives everything for me, she is always at my side and I want to give everything to succeed.”
