3 June 2024

Race resume

The Nogaro circuit hosted the 3rd round of the French Superbike Championship this weekend. The 3,636 km route allowed combativeness and surprises during the two races in each category. The pilots supported by the GMT 94 have shone again for some and progressed for others.
Supersport 600

Enzo de la Vega started the weekend by obtaining the lap record in FP3. He then took pole position.

Race 1 –
Nogaro was a duel for victory between GMT 94 supported rider Enzo de la Vega and Corentin Perolari. Despite a very good pace and in a good position for 1st place, de la Vega lost the victory on the last lap, due to a mechanical failure. The number 114 miraculously saved the second step of the podium with the obvious disappointment of seeing victory slip away from him.
Achieving very interesting lap times in the race, with their best lap less than 1.5 seconds behind the leaders, the riders supported by the GMT 94, Alexy Négrier and Bartholomé Perrin placed 5th and 6th respectively. Tom Wallet (17) finished the race in 10th place, ahead of Luca Cersosimo who took the points for 12th place. Cyprien Baby will have experienced a complicated first race and will not be classified.

Race 2 –

During the second race, Enzo de la Vega asserted his superiority since the start of the weekend. Starting from pole, he won and set the fastest lap in the race. The rider supported by GMT94 leaves Nogaro with a victory with two podiums in two races and is getting closer to the lead of the championship still led by Alexy Negrier, once again in the top 5 at the age of 17. Bartholomé Perrin also had a superb race and took 3rd place, a whisker behind Diego Poncet (only 0.086 seconds apart) and also got on the podium.
Tom Wallet, faster than in the first race, finished 8th, and showed good consistency throughout the weekend. Cyprien Baby 10th, and Luca Cersosimo 11th leave full of lessons and experience and take crucial points for the championship.

Supersport 300. Victory for Arthur Massy (15 years old)

Race 1 –
Less than 5 tenths from the podium, Arthur Massy, 15, achieved a nice fifth place which confirms his performance in the top 5 since the start of the season. Congratulations to Dorian Joulin, winner.

Race 2 –
Arthur Massy established himself as boss and won his very first victory after a controlled race where he was able to impose his pace on the rest of the grid. He thus achieved his very first victory in Supersport 300 and his second podium this season. It is with stars in his eyes that the Ornais driver climbed to the highest step of the podium and proudly displayed his progress.
