GMT94 Portimao 2024 : Results Mahias/Öttl Race 2

Race resume

This Sunday, the GMT94 Yamaha riders met up for the final races on the Portimao racetrack (Portugal).

In Supersport, Lucas Mahias, after a good warm-up, was determined to do well in Race 2. The number 94 achieved his goal. After an incisive start from 10th position, the French driver found himself in 8th place after just a few laps. A battle for 5th place ensued with Can Öncü, Glenn van Straalen and Marcel Schrötter. For much of the race, Lucas Mahias fought his way to the front of the group. With just a few laps to go, the GMT94 Yamaha rider was able to open up a gap that allowed him to cross the finish line in a fine 5th place.

In the Superbike class, Philipp Ottl did not disappoint in Race 2. After being forced into a straightaway in the opening laps. Philipp Ottl wasn’t about to give up. The number 5 finished in 21st position and is now looking ahead to the next race, which will take place at the Magny-Cours circuit in France.

In the Women’s World Cup, the French representatives performed well. After battling it out in the group for 7th place, Ornella Ongaro and Emily Bondi finished 8th and 10th respectively in a race won by Spanish driver Ana Carrasco.

From 15 to 17 May, GMT94 Yamaha will return to the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic for the 5th round of the 2026 WorldSSP World Championship.
