Corentin Perolari finished the French round of the Superport World Championship in 6th position. After five races on the GMT94 Yamaha R6, the young French rider has moved closer to the leading group.
Christophe Guyot: “The start of the race was excellent. Starting from the 2nd row, Corentin made a very good start to put himself in 4th position in the first corner. He then remained several laps in touch with the leading men. A little generous on the throttle on the angle, Corentin almost made the mistake but he was able to stay on his wheels to come back. He then took the record of the lap held by Cal Crutchlow since 2009. A feat. Forced to brutalize his tires, the pace then slowed down and Corentin still managed to fight not to lose too much ground and cross the finish line in 6th position. This is the first time that we are able to appear with the leaders of the category. In search of performance since the beginning of the weekend, we will now be able to start working on the consistency of the duration of a race. The satisfaction is great for the rider and our team who have just crossed an important milestone.”
Corentin Perolari: “It’s great. It was so good to be with them, with the top riders. It’s a shame that I made this drift and was too eager to return. I did not think the race was so long, that I should have taken a little longer to avoid damaging my rear tire. It will serve me as an experience for next time. Highly Argentina.”
