Race resume

At the end of an unusual race that saw big gaps following the Flag-to-Flag (pit stop), Jules Cluzel finished 3rd, just a few tenths off second place. A great podium, following his fall which caused him some muscle pain. Corentin Perolari, who had been in the podium group for a long time, unfortunately lost time during his lap after the pit stop. He was able to put on a good show with some daring overtaking which enabled him to take 4th place.

Jules Cluzel: “After a high-speed crash in FP3, I was very numb at the start of the race. The podium was almost unhoped for but I gave 100% to make it. What’s more, we’re collecting 16 precious points for the championship, so it’s been a positive weekend! »

Corentin Perolari: “I took a step this winter with my training. I am now able to fight with the group that was ahead of me last season. I still have to work hard to get this podium, but I’m getting closer to it. »

Christophe Guyot: “This race in Australia was going to have some surprises in store with this pit stop imposed by the race direction for safety reasons. Our bike allowed the riders to keep a good grip at the end of the race, which created a definite advantage. The GMT94 leaves Australia at the top of the team ranking, so we can be satisfied! »
