The 2025 season for GMT94 Yamaha came to a close in Jerez, Spain, after a year full of excitement and challenges. The arrival of the Yamaha R9 marked the beginning of a new era for the Val-de-Marne-based team, while its participation in the Women’s World Championship proved to be a particularly stimulating challenge.
Lucas Mahias: 4 podiums and one pole position
The 2025 Supersport World Championship season was marked by a solid performance from Lucas Mahias with GMT94 Yamaha. In his first season riding the Yamaha R9, the French rider secured four podiums and one pole position, demonstrating his competitiveness against the world’s best riders.
Despite a few races where luck was not on his side, the 2017 Supersport World Champion maintained a consistent level of performance, consolidating his place among the leading riders and proudly representing Yamaha. The “94” rider finished 7th in the world championship.
Lucas Mahias is now looking ahead to 2026 and intends to be a contender for the world title with GMT94.
Michael Rinaldi: an exciting challenge
The arrival of Michael Ruben Rinaldi at GMT94 Yamaha for the 2025 World Supersport season promised a very high level of competition. After several successful years in WorldSBK, the Italian rider, with 5 wins and 23 podiums to his name, was looking for a new challenge with the Yamaha R9.
Despite a promising start in Australia (P4), after ten races and numerous results outside the points, the Italian rider was unable to find the keys to bounce back. The rider and team then mutually agreed to end their collaboration. Michael Rinaldi subsequently seized the opportunity to return to World Superbike with Team Moto X, still riding a Yamaha.
Roberto Garcia: a promising first season
With the help of Yamaha and Niccolò Canepa (racing manager), GMT94 turned to youth to prepare for the future. Crowned FIM Moto2 Junior GP European Champion in 2024, Roberto Garcia made his debut in the Supersport World Championship when he joined GMT94 during the season. The 19-year-old rider quickly showed his potential with the Yamaha R9.
In his first race at Misano, he moved up from 20th to 6th place in Race 2, a remarkable performance. At Estoril, he started from the first position for Race 2 and finished 4th, just a few tenths of a second off the podium, confirming his steady progress.
Thanks to the points scored by the young Spanish rider alongside Lucas Mahias, GMT94 finished in 5th place in the world championship team standings. Roberto Garcia will continue the adventure with GMT94 Yamaha in 2026, aiming for podium finishes.
Lucie Boudesseul: impressive results
In 2025, Lucie Boudesseul took up the challenge of the Women’s World Championship with the support of GMT94 Yamaha. The young French rider quickly showed her qualities with the Yamaha R7, delivering consistent performances and making steady progress.
At Magny-Cours, on home soil, Lucie made history by securing the first podium finish for a French rider in a world speed championship. The highlight of her season came at Jerez, where she finished third in Race 2 against the leaders in the category. Lucie ended the season in fifth place, with the honorary title of “Rookie of the Year,” opening up great prospects for 2026 with GMT94.
Bartholomé Perrin: first wild card in the World Championship
As they do every year, GMT94 and the FFM offered a “Wild Card” to the best French rider in the FSBK. Young Bartholomé Perrin dedicated his season to fulfilling his dream of racing in the French round of the Supersport World Championship at Magny-Cours. Fresh from winning the French championship title a few days earlier, Bartholomé Perrin qualified 2.5 seconds off pole position.
He then made steady and productive progress, with his best time in Race 2 putting him just one second off the track record.
Magny-Cours: exceptional support
During the French event, GMT94 enjoyed extraordinary support from its fans. 1,300 partners and members of GMT94 Yamaha were in attendance. Everyone was able to enjoy a wide range of activities: visits to the pits, meetings with the team at the Yamaha hospitality area, autograph sessions with the riders, competitions with prizes to be won, and a walking tour of the circuit with Christophe Guyot.
The team is already looking forward to seeing fans again for the 2026 edition, from September 4 to 6, with new promotional offers to be announced soon on the GMT94 Yamaha website.
