GMT94, Misano 2024 : Mahias/ÖTTL free practice and qualifying results

14 June 2024

Race resume

After testing 10 days ago at Misano (Italy), the GMT94 Yamaha riders took to the track today with high hopes for the start of this 4th round of the World Championship.

In Supersport Lucas Mahias could have been aiming for the front rows given his times in FP and early qualifying. After a pit stop to put on a new tyre, the French rider set off again on the Italian track for a time attack. A crash during his attempt failed to reward the 2017 World Supersport Champion, who will have to start from 16th on the grid tomorrow.

In Superbike, an engine failure in FP1 did not allow Philipp Öttl to complete many laps. After a great deal of work by the team, the GMT94 Yamaha rider was able to take part in FP2 and complete his session normally. Philipp will be able to take advantage of a final free session tomorrow morning before qualifying and the race.
