16 June 2024

Race resume

The GMT94 riders were hoping for good results at Misano (Italy) on Sunday. Philipp Öttl finished in the points, while Lucas Mahias had to deal with a technical problem.

In Superbike, Philipp Öttl had his sights set on the Top 15. Starting from 22nd on the grid, the GMT94 representative fought hard throughout the race to make up seven positions and score a point in the overall standings. He crossed the finish line a few thousandths ahead of Michael Rinaldi.

In Supersport, Lucas Mahias was once again aiming for a strong comeback, especially after setting the fourth fastest time in the Warm Up. Starting from the sixth row, the Frenchman was forced to pit after just a few laps due to a technical issue.

The GMT94 Yamaha duo now have a date in a few weeks’ time with Donington Park, a circuit which has often smiled on them in the past.

In the FIM Women’s World Championship, congratulations to María Herrera on her victory. As for the French riders, Ornella Ongaro had a great race, finishing seventh on the podium. Emily Bondi was unable to finish due to a training injury sustained a few weeks ago. We wish her a speedy recovery so that she can return at 100% for the next race in Great Britain.
