Jerez-Spain

Test

Lorenzo Baldassarri and the GMT94 Yamaha have had a good start to the season in Jerez.

Lorenzo Baldassarri and the GMT94 can leave Jerez satisfied after two days of positive testing. The 131 laps completed throughout the test have allowed the team and the number 34 to do some constructive work with the new Yamaha YZF-R1.

Lorenzo Baldassarri: “A new team, a new bike… this first test was really positive. We worked step by step to understand the bike, both the electronics and the set-up. It was a discovery for everyone. I’m really happy because we improved with every ride. Even if we are still far from the best lap times, we are going in the right direction. Thanks to the team, to Christophe Guyot, they managed to prepare the motorbike in time during a very short off-season, we are looking forward to the next tests in Portimao.”

Christophe Guyot (Team Manager):

“Really positive tests, we are very satisfied with the work of Lorenzo and the team. The battle plan was respected, Lorenzo has a great potential, we could see it in his last run with a very good ideal time. A motorbike that works well, the technical support of Yamaha, no mistakes, no crashes, we enter the Superbike category with a smile. We will approach Portimao as we did Jerez and then we will work on the lap times by switching to more tyres as our rivals did.
