Pre-season tests

Pre-season tests are key moments for the GMT94 Yamaha team. Each year, the riders, mechanics and engineers gather for several days at a circuit during the winter to fine-tune their set-up, explore new strategies and adapt to the changing conditions of the various World Supersport and World Superbike championship circuits.

This Friday, the current leader of the French Supersport and Superbike Championship, went to the Circuit Carole for a day of tests on the Yamaha R6 GMT94. The aim of this session was to prepare the wild card that the rider from Albi will ride at the French WorldSSP Round in September.

This Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th April, the GMT94 Yamaha team will train at the Aragon circuit (Spain). This track will host the first round of the World Supersport Championship on May 22th and 23th.

For the first time in the 2021 season, the GMT94 team tested with all the World Supersport Championship riders on track. Finishing 1st and 2nd on Tuesday morning, Jules Cluzel and Federico Caricasulo concentrated on testing tyres in the afternoon.

On Tuesday 09 March, Dorna Sports announced the addition of a new race to the 2021 calendar, at the Navarra circuit (Spain). This news came to modify the plans of GMT94. Taking advantage of the opportunity offered to ride on March 17/18, the “94” team decided to go to Spain to learn this new track.
