Fresh from winning back-to-back French Supersport championships in 2021 and 2022, Valentin DEBISE will be GMT94 YAMAHA’s rider in the FIM Supersport World Championship for the 2023 season.

After a solid race 1, Jules Cluzel finished 2nd in the warm-up session on Sunday morning. Ready for the start of the race, Jules took off well.

After a superb qualifying session that put him on the front row of the grid, Jules Cluzel made a good start in race 1. In the leading group, Jules made numerous overtakes to settle regularly around the 3rd place.

This weekend sees the final European round of the World Superbike Championship at the Portimao circuit in Portugal. GMT94 Yamaha and Jules Cluzel won the round in 2021. The whole team is aiming for a podium finish before heading to Argentina.

Last weekend was the last round of the French Superbike Championship at the Paul Ricard circuit. The riders supported by GMT94 had some great successes, but also some disappointments. Valentin Debise, who has now won the Supersport class, was aiming for the double in the Superbike class. After having made a great comeback in Race 1, Jules Cluzel was keen to do well in this second race.

Like every Saturday morning, the Superpole session, which serves as a qualifying session, took place. The GMT94 Yamaha had a complicated session, with Jules qualifying 16th and Andy 19th. With the times being very close from 2nd place, the GMT94 Yamaha riders could have been better rewarded.

Rain was forecast for Friday, but the Spanish sun was present during the two free practice sessions. Jules Cluzel finished FP2 in a respectable 5th place, after FP1 which served to better understand the direction to take in terms of bike set-up.

This weekend sees the eighth round of the World Supersport Championship at the Barcelona circuit (Spain). The GMT94 Yamaha is coming in with confidence following its podium finish with Jules Cluzel on French soil ten days ago.

Sunday 12th September was a special day for Jules Cluzel. Indeed, it was his last race in France. The GMT94 rider announced before this race weekend that 2022 would be his last year in motorbike racing.
